Trippy McTrippy Fashion Video : Fin Eco-Luxury

Check out Norwegian eco designer Fin's website. The fall/winter '08 preview features models wearing beautifully made sustainable clothing, slow-mo jumping on a big trampoline. It is a bit odd at first, but then you realize that with the jumping motion in mega slow motion, you can really see how the fabric moves!

Ahh, Europeans, always so damn innovative and on-point.

Eco Rapper AND Politician

Harvey Ruvin =

Eco Emcee?

Check out this sweet YouTube video made by self-proclaimed eco candidate and incumbent for Miami-Dade Clerk of Court, Harvey Ruvin. He not only is the greenest candidate, but your boy has rhymin' skillz too. And really and truly, whoever made the beat for the track is ALL OVER IT. (Miami's finest, DJ Khaled perhaps?)

Radiohead Is Eco-Friendly?

My sister Alice loves Radiohead. Whereas I'm definitely more hip-hop/R&B, I admired The Bends and think the song Idioteque is just the bomb nasty (click on it to see the music video on YouTube). But now, there is another reason to vibe on Radiohead: They give a s**t about the earth and stuff.

Radiohead is greening their European tour in a major way. To help fans find the best way of traveling to the venue, the band has launched a website which allows fans to calculate their journey with an online calculator.

Rock on to Radiohead this summer on their European tour and make sure to hit the ridiculous high notes with Thom Yorke (he really gets up there in his octave range, right?!)

Gossip Girl Goes Green? OMG That Would Rock!

Gossip Girls Serena "S" and Blair "B"

It is official, Gossip Girl, is the most amazing show ever. This beautifully written New York Magazine article proves it, once and for all.

If only the show's stylist Eric Daman, formerly an assistant stylist for Sex and the City, would call us G Spotters to do some eco-fashion consulting for Blair, Serena, Dan (so dreamy) and the gang. We'd trick S out in a sparkly yet bohemian Elsom Sequin Kimono Dress and an Emily Katz Recycled Denim "Perfect" Trench and then put B in an edgy yet classic Julia Smith bronze "Grace Couture" strapless dress.

Eco-Hip Hop? HOT 97 Goes Green!

We don't know how this escaped the radar for so long, but our favorite hip hop radio station in NYC, Hot 97 has a huge Green Initiative! This is unbelievably exciting considering Hot 97 has the best DJs in NYC, plays the best in contemporary and throw back mainstream hip hop and R&B music, and now they are putting on all their listeners to green tips and ideas.

Some of their initiatives included an event on March 20th partnering with TerraCycle, where a FREE iTunes downloads for every 4 vinyl records or 8 CDs turned in, instead of thrown out. TerraCyle is one of our favorite home-grown worm poop to fertilizer companies based in Trenton New Jersey founded by a couple of friends from Princeton who dropped out to make this super-sustainable poop product that is now sold in Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and other gardening heavy hitters.

They also have info about recycling in NYC, public transportation innovation, and clips from the Live Earth concerts.

Look Ma, I'm Retreating

Between May and December of 2007, the Columbia Glacier in Alaska retreated half a mile and lost 400 billion gallons of water. This mind-blowing time-lapse video, has 436 frames and was shot by the Extreme Ice Survey Project to highlight the effects of global warming. Equal parts beautiful and overwhelmingly alarming, this would be a good chain letter-esque email to cc all your friends on.

Major shout out to National Geographic for always bringing us the coolest content in their magazines and websites, and Gabriela from LA who first g-spotted it.

Sigg Haiku

The following is a poem for my water bottle. Mind you, this is not just any water bottle; it is a Sigg. I am stopped at least 3 times a day to be complimented on said bottle, and so this poem is is dedicated to my source of inspiration.

Sigg of my life, yes
eyes lift from The Post and stare
you hold water, calm.
